ABSTRACT
The research work is aimed at finding out the cause of deviant and delinquent behaviour among students in Emotan Girls Grammar School in Oredo Local Government Area, Edo State. The instrument employed in gathering the data include questionnaires, interview and personal observation. Based on the analyzed data, the following findings were discovered.
1. That broken marriage or home can cause deviant and delinquent behaviour.
2. That lack of teaching materials also lead to deviant and delinquent behaviour among students.
3. That peer group influence can contribute to deviant and delinquent behaviour
4. That poor quality administration exhibited by principals and school masters can lead to deviant and delinquent behaviour. Based on the findings, recommendations were made by the researcher.
